Day 1
Welcome one and all to the daily blog of Gadget Fix in St. Petersburg, Florida. This is our second location of Gadget Fix. The original location of the business is in Philadelphia, PA. So, we decided to have another store in a warm and sunny spot. People break their phones in Florida………right???? We can only hope they do.
We decided to visit the Salvador Dali Museum one day. As we wandered about the museum and looked at the the art work, we suddenly heard a loud “Ohhh No” coming from another room. As we walked closer to the mysterious noise, we saw that a woman had dropped her phone and the screen had shattered all over the hard floor. We walked over to the distraught woman and told her about our business and that we repair phone screens. Unlucky for her, but lucky for us. We told her and her family our location and they said they would be by after they were done in the museum.
A few hours later the woman and her family showed up and we were able to take a better look at her phone. She had a iPhone 6s Plus. It only took a few minutes to assess the damage and then our tech was start with the repair. Our customers are fascinated by the work we do; so they just stand and watch as we repair their phone screen. Twenty minutes later and her phone looks brand spankin’ new. She was very happy it have it fixed, so she could admire the art works of Salvador Dali that she had captured with her phone even after she had left the museum. We also helped her pick out a phone case that would help cushion the edges of the phone if she were to drop it on a hard surface again. She left a happy customer and that is all we can ever ask for.
Remember for next time folks: try and have a case that helps to protect your phone rather than just makes it look cool, because you can learn the hard way that your fancy new case won’t protect your phone in case of a fall. Now here at Gadget Fix, we may not be like life alert for your phone, like in the museum when we were there to help instantly, but we are always just a phone call away.
Until next time readers……………
Day 2
Welcome back to the daily blog of Gadget Fix St. Petersburg, Florida.
We are not sure if y’all have heard about the Hillsborough County Fair that is going on between October 19th-22 and October 26-29. We are big fans of county fairs and this one in particular sounds like a blast because all the rides are only a dollar to ride on the opening night. Who can resist fair rides……come on people! Unfortunately we must tell you a gruesome tale of woe that happened at this dollar ride night.
A customer came in the day after dollar ride night and tasked us with fixing his iPad mini screen. He spun us a tale of excitement and terror as we discovered how his iPad mini’s screen was in error. Apparently, he was riding the ferris wheel with his two small children and he was using the iPad to take pictures. They had finally reached the top and the sun was setting so beautifully. He took out the iPad to save the moment when it slipped from his hands and fell from his enjoyment. Luckily for him it did not injure anyone on the way down. Once he reached the bottom and picked up the device, it was shattered and had become a poltergeist. We told him that it would be a few hours to fix the screen. He came back later and much to his surprise, the iPad was just like new and in better shape than he realized. With much thanks and a few bucks, he was on his way to another county fair. Whether he drops it again or not, we are always here for all your repair needs.
Please, everyone be careful at the county fair this weekend, but if you break your phone or smart device, come on into Gadget Fix and we sure will be nice.
Till next time folks!
Day 3
Greetings Everyone and Merry Christmas!
We know that everyone is talking about what they want for Christmas. They want the latest and greatest thing out there. However, just because its the latest piece of technology, does not mean its the best piece of technology. Take the iPhone for example. The iPhone X just came out and everyone has to get their hands on it. But, it is not perfect. We have read articles that state that the iPhone X screen will just freeze in cold temperatures. Lots of us live in colder climates and we need to use our phones. Apple had to go in and fix the problem. So….not everything new is the best, it has flaws.
Many of us here at Gadget fix have the iPhone 7 and we prefer it over the newer 8 and even the 10. The iPhone 7 can still update to the newest IOS and if you break the screen it won’t cost you an arm or leg to fix it. We don’t want to tell you how much the 8 and 10 screen cost to fix……….too much! If your kids want a new phone for Christmas think about the iPhone 7 vs. the 8 and the 10. In the long run the 7 will save you more money than you think.
We just thought we would include our input into your holiday shopping brain storming session.
Till next time!
